Heinz And Cadbury Launch 'Crème Egg Mayo' For EASTER & It's The Crossover No One Asked For!

Although it was first announced on April Fool's Day and people thought it was just a mere prank. However, Heinz then reannounced it on April 2 and revealed that it was, for some reason, indeed real!

Cadbury has been the ultimate favorite for many children -- be it their chocolates or their cookies. However, we have finally got something that no one expected! In an interesting turn of events, Cadbury and Heinz have teamed up to make creme egg-flavored mayonnaise. Now, this is truly the crossover we didn't deserve, reports Irish Post

We've all been aware of the recent products released by Heinz in the past few months. And they were truly bizarre! Firstly, there was Mayochup. This was followed by Mayocue and Mayomust. And finally, came Kranch. But the new creme egg mayonnaise beats them all.

Although it was first announced on April Fool's Day and people thought it was just a mere prank. However, Heinz then reannounced it on April 2 and revealed that it was, for some reason, as real as it gets! In simple terms, it's a mayonnaise spread blended with fondant and chocolate.

“We’re so excited to announce that our ‘Heinz [Seriously] Good Cadbury Creme Egg Mayo’ collaboration is actually happening, and can’t wait for people to try it for themselves,” Raphael Capitani, brand manager of Cadbury Creme Egg, told Pretty52.com, a U.K.-based website. “We’re looking forward to seeing Creme Egg and Heinz fans head down to the installation to taste this deliciously gooey spread.”

Meanwhile, Martina Davis, the Brand Manager for Heinz [Seriously] Good Mayonnaise, also chimed in with an announcement, "In Heinz’s 150th anniversary year, we want to take every opportunity to celebrate and Easter has always been one of our favorite times of the year."

"So we set out to create the most Easter-y mayo we could. And who better to partner with than Cadbury Creme Egg — the kings and queens of Easter and another of the nation’s most loved brands!" she added.

However, Twitter has not been too kind with the newly-launched product as many have not fancied the idea of Creme Egg-Flavored Mayonnaise! And people who have tried the product, have also given their verdict. "Someone needs to have a word with your taste testers. They've lost the plot!" said one Twitter user. Meanwhile, other users said that they were "terrified of what I just saw" and "curled up in the fetal position waiting for you to take this back."

If you are from the States, you'll be glad to know that it was only available in the UK, as part of a limited time 150th-anniversary celebration of Heinz. And since Cadbury is a British brand, the product was only available at select stores in London.

However, this is not the first time such an idea had popped up! Heinz was earlier roused by its chocolate mayonnaise 'declaration' last year, which was indeed an April Fools' joke.

A Heinz representative told The Independent, "It’s hard to improve on perfection, but we think we might have done it. Mayonnaise? Seriously good! Chocolate? Really good! Chocolate Mayonnaise? Scrumptious perfection!"

Meanwhile, Heinz which is known for its bizarre combinations had also experimented recently with ketchup and ranch dressing. It is the fourth combo sauce from Heinz after the debut of Mayochup last year. Priced at $3.49 a bottle, the new sauce will be available at stores across the USA. It is ideal for dipping fries, chicken tenders or pizza crust.

According to Dalia Adler, Associate Director of Marketing for Heinz, as reported by Delish “When we launched Mayochup, Mayomust, and Mayocue, our fans speculated on social media what they thought the next condiment mashup should be—the tweets were pouring in! Inspired by our fans’ ideas, our new Kranch sauce is a blend of ketchup and ranch that will completely change your condiment game this summer."

Now if you are up for experimenting new products, Heinz is the perfect go-to brand for you because they can pretty much think of anything and yet make it the talk of the town!
